GHOST 5 - Festival of Butoh, Sound and Vision brings together Butoh dancers, sound artists and visual artists from Germany, France, Greece and the UK to create an experimental, stimulating and immersive landscape of experience for performers and audiences. In a time of acceleration and social isolation, the festival aims to open up spaces for deceleration, self-centeredness and respectful togetherness. It asks: How can art help us to accept ourselves, take responsibility and find resonance in others? How can the I merge with the We without giving up?
The GHOST 5 – Festival of Butoh, Sound and Vision Festival took place from June 18th 2026 until July 12th 2026 at WELTKUNSTZIMMER Düsseldorf. The Düsseldorf based sculptor and artist Andreas Schmitten was invited to create the visual scene for this years festival.
