Local Treasure/The Seahurst Restoration Project - [Film released June 2015]. Local Treasure unveils the largest beach restoration project on Puget Sound. This film highlights a 10-year collaborative project focused on restoring the natural processes of the shoreline creating a healthier ecosystem benefiting both human and animal habitats at Seahurst Park in Burien, Washington through the promotion of stewardship, salmon restoration and shared community space. Once labeled an "urban landscape" this unique restoration project quickly established a strong precedent showcasing footage of Black and Brown science students and Environmental Youth Leaders who benefited most from the Seahurst beach seawall removal.
