Equine-assisted therapy uses horses to help people who are struggling. There is no riding involved. The focus is developing life skills in the client, not on horsemanship skills. As a client works with the horses, they see the connection between what they are experiencing with the horses and their real life.
I was invited to film participants in a spiritual retreat held at the Clearview Equine Centre in Stirling, Ont., during one of their sessions with the horses.
