With the score at 6-3, Hawick were trying to defend against Heriot's who had dominated the second half but couldn't get any points in a scoreless final 40 minutes. Heriot's had one last chance, but no one expected that this one passage of play would last 10 minutes and 38 seconds! This piece of play is surely a contender for one of the longest ever seen in a rugby match - credit to Heriot's for retaining possession and equally to Hawick for defending this without giving away a penalty, an extraordinary piece of collective self-discipline.
