Project Solaris is a site-specific, visual and musical performance, based on the novel ‘Solaris’ (1961) by Stanislav Lem.
Guided by an mp4 player, main character Chris Kelvin takes her audience along her field research.
With carefully accomplished experiments, she tries to enter the for our eyes invisible dimensions; possibly entering one in which the love of her life might still be alive.
An apparently impossible act. But looking at it from the perspective of the Quantum Mechanics, it might at least be theoretically possible. This way we enter a world of unpredictable physics, in which reality and illusion fight for their existence, wherein the pathway is decided by chance and the uncertainty reign.
Project Solaris makes you wonder about the mysteries that reality secretly hides. But it also is a love-story, reflecting the fears and desires of Chris Kelvin. Therefor, author Stanislaw Lem claims, ‘it always is the unknown within ourselves that we somehow connect to, whether we like it or not.
