Doggerland: A performance for the exhibition 'River', curated by Pete Cobb and Richard Wilson
University of East London, March 4th 2015
Before the last ice age Britain was joined with continental Europe. This landmass, now submerged below the North Sea, is known as Doggerland. In Doggerland the Thames and Rhine were part of the same river system and this performance in three movements explores this now hidden connectivity.
The Impossible Trio is an Anglo-German performance group with an expandable membership. Our German colleagues will be collecting Rhine water to bring to this performance for the ritual re-merging with the Thames after eight-thousand years.
The Impossible Trio for this performance were:
Julia Amann, Jeanette Asmuß, David Chapman, Adrian Palka, Simon Miles, Wolfram Der Spyra.
