Place: David Zwirner Gallery, New York City.
Artist: Michael Riedel
Goal: Create pattern arrangements using twenty different posters, as designed by the artist, to serve as the background for an installation of his canvas-based works. As part of the deal, we had to guarantee that the posters could be cleanly removed without damage to the walls, after the exhibit was over.
Scope of work: Prep the walls with a clear drywall primer/sealer. Install the 1000+ posters one at a time in the manner of wallpaper, using a premixed, clear vinyl adhesive. Install the posters as indicated by the artist's scaled mockups for each wall.
Time frame: Three days for the installation. One day for the removal.
