For the most up-to-date preview of the movie visit WHEN THE IRON BIRD FLIES is projected to be released early 2012.

For centuries, Buddhism was practiced in near isolation in the rugged mountain country of Tibet. While western civilization focused on the development of material technology, Tibetan culture concentrated on the development of ‘spiritual technologies,’ mind techniques for mapping the route to the highest spiritual attainment. Then, in 1959, with the Chinese invasion, everything changed. Now, fifty years later, there are Tibetan Buddhist meditation centers in every major city in the western world, two three-year retreat centers in France alone, and the Dalai Lama has 92,000 followers on Twitter.

WHEN THE IRON BIRD FLIES will trace the astounding path of one of the world’s great spiritual traditions from the medieval caves of Tibet to the mainstream of western culture – and ask: How can this 2,600 year old eastern religion help us in the West cope with our 21st century lives, and reach Enlightenment? Chariot Productions and Pundarika Foundation, the producers of BLESSINGS: The Tsoknyi Nangchen Nuns of Tibet, have teamed up again to tackle this timely and important subject. This is a preview of a WORK-IN-PROGRESS, © Chariot/Pundarika.

Note, this new cut of selected scenes includes interviews as of June 2010.
