Countless weeks of research, planning, shooting & interviewing all boiled down to this...the long edit of my film, "Graveyard of the Great Lakes: A Shipwreck Hunter's Quest."
The 49 minute film is about David Trotter, the best Great Lakes shipwreck hunter in Michigan. The film follows him & his divers on three ships he discovered, the stories and characters behind each of those ships.
The film premiered at the 2nd annual Freep Film Festival (freepfilmfestival.com) in Detroit at the Fillmore Theater on March 19, 2015. It was a double feature along with my colleague, Brian Kaufman and his film Fire Photo -> 1.
I've been a photo and video journalist at the Detroit Free Press since 1999. This was the first film I've done since taking up video in 2008 and I'd love to be able to tell more stories and do more films in the future :-)
