The exhibition opening GUERRE, MARTYRS ET CITOYENS EN ARMES SATISFACTION. The premiere of the video performance LA GUERRE / Der Krieg; and start of the intergrative live performance SATISFACTION / Reparación (co-performing: STEFAN FRAUNBERGER), carried out between 7th and 11th march (2015) in Dijon, France.
ABOUT: On 7th march 2015, austrian artist RAHMAN HAK-HAGIR invited his audience at Galerie ALCHIMIA in Dijon (France) to reflect on the principles of codes of honour by performing a classical duel situation. In history duels were fought not so much to kill the opponent as to gain “satisfaction”, that is, to restore one’s honour by demonstrating a willingness to risk one’s life for it.
During the exhibition opening on 7th march 2015, the artist was challenging his audience at Galerie Alchimia (13-15 rue Auguste Comte / Dijon) to paintball duels; by adressing „formal“ insults at them - to provide the citizens of Dijon with a personal „Casus Belli“ (Latin: “An act or event that provokes or is used to justify war“).
• 19 dijonese citizens demanded Satisfaction.
• 6 Duels had been carried out, on 11th march in 14 rue Jehan de Marville „Jardin de l'Arquebuse“.
• The artist lost 4 of these duels. In 2 he suceeded.
• All the 19 challengers where ready to meet up.
• No one deflected.
