The Nomadic Remix Jackets are wearable, electronic sound instruments that re-imagine/re-wire clothing for a globalized, media-saturated era. They situate the wearer as a sonic hunter/gatherer, exploring and documenting the sonic landscape of the postmodern city.
The Sound Parasites are soft sculpture sound robots. They are designed to feed off the verbal energy of sound-emitting hosts, disrupting their sonic integrity but providing an annoyingly/amusingly glitched remix of the original sound material.
Both pieces are derived from my Mini Digital Sound Modules, which are based on PIC microcontrollers with custom remixing algorithms.
