Open Aye was commissioned to run a pilot outdoor participatory photography project with 3 east end schools in Jan-Mar 2015. As part of Glasgow Green 2015, Scottish Natural Heritage wanted to work with a number of schools in Glasgow’s east end, to encourage pupils to get outdoors and be more active.Open Aye planned, devised, managed and facilitated a total of 6 workshops with 4 schools , each grouping having 1 outdoor session and 1 indoor session each.
As part of the Open Aye commission we created a short video of the project. Participants were filmed at every session, documenting the process. Interviews were held with pupils, teachers, staff and helpers. A short 6 min documentary has been created, which tells the story of the project and will hopefully inspire other schools and community groups to take up the opportunity to run their own Simple Pleasures Outdoor Photo Treasure Hunts!
