I was commissioned for the second year to make a piece for Waterweek 2015, held at Herstmonceux Castle in Sussex between the 8th - 14th March. The event is documented on facebook and twitter feeds.
I recently swam in the thermal waters in Bath Spa for the first time. In the pre-Roman era, people travelled from far to consult Sulis, the goddess of the sacred waters amongst the mist and trees. I said her name into the water whilst submerged, and noticed I could make some evocative and expressive sounds, which inspired the making of this piece.
I collected water from the source, and after using it to make the work, I carried it with me to the Waterweek event in the very same plastic bottle. I installed the sound-work overlooking the water, then handed out the remaining Bath Spa water.
