This 14-minute film, centered on an exclusive interview with electronics pioneer and Intel co-founder Gordon E. Moore, explores the origins, meanings, implications, and future of Moore’s Law. Describing the fundamental dynamic that has driven the development of silicon microchips, Moore’s Law has held for five decades and is intimately connected to the proliferation of electronics and computing throughout society. April 19, 2015 marks the fiftieth anniversary of Gordon Moore’s first publication about this fundamental dynamic, and his numerical predictions about the future of silicon electronics. The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) produced this film to mark this anniversary, and to allow the public to hear from Gordon Moore himself at this milestone. CHF fosters dialogue on science and technology in society. Learn more at chemheritage.org.
