I present to you my winning entry to La Cieca's lip dub competition, on Parterre Box (parterre.com). It is of Renée Fleming's new single "Endlessly." It's both a tribute to and a toying with this current reigning American Diva, and her "crossing over" from the classical vocal genre into techno-pop.
Since I live on the "Left Coast," I had to craft any relevant filming "locations." My inspiration for the video style? 80's MTV!...think Bonnie Tyler, Human League, Billy Idol. High kitsch value + LOW production values = oh-so-irresistible, especially for us Gen-Xers!
A tragic tranny mess? Visionary? You be the judge, but it's nothing if not fun. Plus, I didn't know I was a blonde (the look chosen to APPROXIMATE the album cover)...the results proved me SO wrong.
After listening to this track a good 75 times or so during the filming and editing of this video...I'm still not sick of it. Honest to God! (I encourage you to buy her single or complete album.) All hail La Scoopenda & La Cieca! Now, in the comments below: praise me, roast me, sex me up, and so on!
