Usiloquy's new work 'Ragas and Airs' is based on intersections between the music and folklore of Indian and Celtic communities, expanding upon the historic connections between South Asian and Celtic heritage.
Encompassing traditional to neo-Celtic music, 'Ragas and Airs' invites the audience on a journey that begins with a romantic ballad to the colonial remnants of the East India company's forage into South Asia to its present-day, global avatar. Tying one of the oldest immigrant communities in the Americas with one of the newest, this work is a platform exploring the intersection of diverse genres and cultures.
