As a cinematographer and editor, every once in a while you come across a wedding story which just seems to flows organically. Nothing staged, nothing scripted. A story just presents itself in the purest and honest form, and after compiling all the happy moments tied together with an emotive score which reflects the day to a tea... you're left with a perfect summation of what true love is.
Kristy + Hayden are a joy to be around. Love and happiness simply radiates in their presence with their down to earth personalities, caring natures and warmth towards the people they care most about. You can't help but smile every time you speak with them. Both have a great sense of humour, attention to detail and friendly demeanour which shines bright throughout their wedding film. Throughout the entire day you couldn't wipe a smile off their faces as they simply were enjoying the moment committing themselves to one another for the next stage of their lives.
Preparations were underway mid morning, as Kristy and Hayden exchanged cards and "survival kits" to one another which was both touching and light hearted. The pre interviews gave Kristy + Hayden the opportunity to tell their accounts of how they met, and the infamous 'proposal story'. Candice from Beauty Within Mobile Makeovers + Marisa Marcus were on hand for hair and makeup of all fabulous bridesmaids and mother of the bride. Kristy's dad, Tony, also managed to sneak in getting his hair done professionally!
Fenix Receptions was the ideal setting for this wonderful day, as no travelling was required for guests once they arrived at the ceremony, allowing all to celebrate in the moment in the company of good friends and family. It was quiet a moment to capture Hayden's first sights of Kristy as she made her grand entrance to the ceremony, officiated by one of Melbourne's finest celebrants Andrew Redman.
Working alongside Tim Marcus from Suede Imagery we captured the natural and candid first few moments of Kristy + Hayden after they were pronounced husband and wife whilst the guests enjoyed canapés and drinks whilst listening to the smooth sounds of Haybax.
As dawn settled in on an amazing day, the reception was filled with laughter, frivolity and treasured moments as guests partied on well into the night dancing along to band Kasablanka.
What can I say Kristy + Hayden... it has been an absolute pleasure to get to know you both over the past few months and capture your story. xx
