Picture this: You’re talking to a prospective client and everything is going well. You’re making eye contact, being smart, funny, and engaging; they are receptive and asking lots of good questions. You both are having a great time. Finally, it’s time. You’re asked, “How much will it cost?”
What do you do? Does your face drop? Do you look to the floor? Play with your cup of tea? Can you hear that loud voice telling you, “That’s too much,” while a tiny voice says, “That’s not really enough”? Do you take a long, drawn out “Well…” and remember how uncomfortable this all makes you? Does talk of money really drag down that feel-good vibe?
Asking for money and assigning a value can be one of the hardest parts for anyone trying to blend a spiritual or healing practice with their profession. Even for those who are doing what they just love to do, it can be confusing, right? You shouldn't take when giving in love, right? Wrong. We are in a perpetual state of give and take. While it may not be perfectly split 50/50 all the time, it needs to be balanced.
In this webinar, we will discuss:
What it means to “give and take ‘Yogically’”;
How to understand value;
Money: our stories around it; our relationship to it; a few ways to shift our thinking about it; even a few practices to make us more comfortable with it;
Budgeting time and money to better understand what our needs and wants are;
Some of my favorite ways to abate the initial intimidation of cost for prospective clients.
Everything about teaching Yoga should excite and invigorate you! Even talking about money.
