"Barnacas" is a long term documentary project that attempts to visualize the past and present from the pre-Olympic Barcelona, true a conceptual reflection. Decades, loaded with post war repression, hunger, and migration, this is the story of thousands of Spaniards who came to Barcelona to escape poverty or political persecution and looked for a decent future.
At various points in the city, these families were settled in self-made slumps and precarious shacks without electricity or water and began to rebuild their lives in between hardship and illusion.
Under the green forest carpet of Montjuïc, behind the walls of the old Fort Pienc neighborhood, or upon the hills of El Carmel, the groom history traces filled with misery, but also with freedom and friendship are still alive.
Navigating true the memory of Paquita, Isabel and Montserrat evokes even today, the black episodes from the Barcelonan slumps.
