The time has come and the most renowned youth snowboard event of the year finally kicked-off. The Black Yeti warmly welcomed the most promising snowboarders under the age of 18 from all over the world to Ischgl, Austria, for the 2015 Völkl World Rookie Finals.
Under amazing snow and weather conditions, the Rookies tested the Ischgl Snowpark in today’s training session and prepared themselves for an exciting week. The riders field is strong: among 107 snowboarders from 21 countries is inter alia last year’s World Rookie Champion, Keita Inamura (JPN), aiming at nothing less than defending his title.
In the upcoming qualification days, the young shredheads will battle for their spots in the big super finals scheduled for Saturday 11th of April, where the very best riders will then fight for the title of the 2015 World Rookie Champion. The champions will be awarded with stunning prizes such as a wild card to the Air & Style, a film shooting with the Pirate Movie Production, a photo shooting in Corvatsch, a freeride trip to Chile and much more.
Besides the competitions, the young snowboarders have exciting days ahead of them, filled with a lively program full of entertaining side activities. The World Rookie Tour organizers are stoked to host the 10th edition of the World Rookie Finals and promise a week full of snowboarding and fun for the next generation of snowboard pros.
A big thanks goes out to all the 2015 Völkl World Rookie Finals sponsors: Völkl, SP Gadgets, RedBull, Glorify and Ischgl.
