Not to throw all the progress I made out the window, I am very happy with the progress I made and the workflow established with avchd -> procoder -> vegas -> h264 -> vimeo.
However, I recently stumbled into Edius, I've never really even heard of Edius talked about in a serious manner, or I'd have tried it earlier. After delving into it a bit, I can't really figure out why it isn't more popular.
The layouts available look and feel a -lot- like Final Cut. This is the biggest draw to me. I am trained on and primarily prefer Final cut for my edits. If Edius could feel like FCP and get the job done as well as vegas, I'm all for it. Also, the time-remap functions of edius have proven... extremely cool so far. Why cant every NLE have time-remap functions like Edius? However, I'm looking at the PC side of editing as of now. I'm not sure how Edius will work out, but this is a test for exploring de-interlaced footage - and since I cant get it to output h264 without major errors at the moment, I'm outputting in a Divx format to save file-size in place of h264. We'll see how it turns out in a few minutes I guess!
