AN UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY THROUGH THE SLUMS OF PORT MORESBY
Steeped across a tropical wilderness, Papua New Guinea is both a landscape of harsh terrain and a nation trapped in formidable poverty. Alongside Haiti and Timor-Leste, it holds the unenviable position of being the poorest country outside Africa & the Middle East.
Inspired by the sacrifice of a local man Kiap Trakalowa to release the next generation from poverty, Gateway began to lay a foundation for his dream to become reality.
Against all back-breaking odds, Gateway launched a work led by Rick Paynter - which began in the worst slums of Port Moresby.
This story traces that legacy, in a people searching for outposts of hope.
