The Emergency Power Facility Assessment Tool, or EPFAT, is a database maintained by the US Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District that tracks critical public facility generator requirements along with required connection materials. This tutorial video will show you how to input your facility information into EPFAT, and explain the importance of providing this information before a disaster strikes.
Following hurricanes, ice storms and other disasters, temporary emergency power is needed in at critical facilities in order to keep live saving services available to the disaster survivors. Providing temporary emergency power to these critical facilities is part of the support the US Army Corps of Engineers provides to FEMA. During the aftermath of a disaster, it can take the Corps many hours and days to assess the impacted facilities, order the correct sized generator, and complete the generator installation.
By adding your data to EPFAT before a disaster impacts your community, facilities such as yours will already have the assessment data and generator size requirements stored in our database. This will reduce the time needed to install the generator, allowing for rapid restoration of temporary power to your critical facility. This, in turn, will help save lives and protect property following the disaster.
