This film documents my journey northward to pick up the engagement ring and wedding band I was having made by a jeweler in Day Creek, WA. My girlfriend (now fiancée) had no idea what I was doing on the road, so she called it my visionquest!
For the longest time I wanted to propose by making a film. At first it was going to be a Western, but I decided that if I was going to do it right that I'd have to do what I do best and make a documentary. The idea was to ask whoever I encountered what love means to them?
When the film was done, I told my fiancée Leigh that I wanted to take her to see "The A-Team." She was a bit perplexed at first, because it's really not my kind of film. What she didn't know was that instead of The A-Team this film played. I proposed in the cinema, my spiritual home. To me, that was how I could show Leigh what love is to me...to love her so much that I'd make a film and project it in the theater.
She said yes!
I promise to blog more about this later, just wanted to get it up for friends and family to see!
