The Blue Rose Film Project is for children and adults with diverse abilities who primarily use non-verbal communication in their interactions with the world.
There is no script and there will be no script for Blue Rose. The film is to be made with people, not about them. There are no casting sessions or auditions; the team will meet the 'stars' through referrals to the project.
Through the relationships that are formed, opportunities will naturally unfold and stories will be told through lived experience.
This video is introducing one of the stars of Blue Rose. This is Vanessa at one of her swimming training sessions at McKeon's Pool in Unanderra.
This project, which will culminate in a feature film, is considered to be a creative concept that strengthens our communities vision of inclusivity, enabling people of all-abilities to fulfil their potential as equal citizens.
Music: Elle Va Au Japon by Nic Bommarito.
