In 1976, I spent a summer making a documentary about the hobo life. We rode the rails on the "High-Line", the old Great Northern Route from St. Paul, Minn. to Seattle Wash. We rode more than 2000 miles in two trips riding freights and shooting interviews. I was joined in the effort by Ed Matney who shot with a Beaulieu Super-8mm camera. Tim Hawthorne did a lot of the ground-to-train filming on 16mm. Dale Sonnenberg did sound. Great people to be with. Mightee fine adventure. The program was narrated by the legendary Dave Moore for the program,Moore on Monday ( AKA Sunday and Tuesday). It was an award-winning, weekly prime-time news magazine back in the 1970's on WCCO, the CBS station in the Twin Cities. Come ride with us.
