How does one define a man of Jazz? To this question our mind's eye is more than likely directed to a tall male with a white button up shirt, black tie, and fedora. However, in the case of Terrence Brewer, such imagery lies more within the mind, the spirit and musical composition than physical appearance. A classically trained, modern influenced Jazz musician from the Bay Area who has made a living and name for himself by contributing to the preservation of Improvised Jazz guitar.
When speaking with Terrence one on one, you're gifted with the same sense of nostalgia and appreciation for Jazz music that he has obtained over many years of performing and listening to it. It isn't hard to see the music that courses through his soul is itching to make it's way out and be heard with every movement or sentence.
At first glance of Terrence's character, one could assume that he is merely obsessed with Jazz and the composition of music, but, when delving deeper through the mind of the Guitarist, you realize that Jazz is part of who he is. That what can easily be misconstrued as an obsession, is actually a key element of his personality. Adding modern twists to a classic form of music, and more than just an improvisational guitarist, Terrence Brewer is a 'Quintessential' man of Jazz.
