To trial a system for getting increased uptake of green power amongst householders by making it the default option. This involves gaining agreement from energy providers as to the proportion of green energy they could reasonably provide to householders at an equivalent price to non-renewable choices and making this proportion the default option. Providers will enjoy more of an economy of scale by supplying greater amounts of renewable energy enabling better price matching with non-renewable sources whilst Individuals would still be able to opt out. Results in related fields indicate that a significant number of people will continue to choose the default option , in this case the greener alternative.
