This video describes MedKaz®, a unique, new patient-focused personal health record system, and how it works. It is an important innovation that will disrupt healthcare.
MedKaz today solves the "interoperability" problem other systems only hope to solve by 2024. It benefits everyone concerned with the quality and cost of care: patients, providers, employers, insurers and government. As the Chief Medical Information Office of a major teaching hospital describes it, "It gives the patient real power in accumulating their record from any location they receive care. It is a simple, inexpensive, and straightforward solution to a complex problem.”
MedKaz aggregates a patient's complete medical record from all her providers on her distinctive MedKaz flash drive that she carries on a keychain, in a wallet or wears, and gives to her care provider anytime, anywhere she needs care.
With only two or three clicks, her provider can search for and access specific records — even without Internet access— and thereby coordinate her care, avoid mistakes and unnecessary tests and provide better, coordinated, lower-cost care. She, too, can search and read her records to understand her health issues and attach addenda to correct mistakes or add her comments to a provider's note. Her providers are paid to update it for her so it is always current.
She also can include on it the medical records of others for whom she is care giver, such as children, other family members and friends.
