Ford is relaunching its "Fiesta" this month and I was lucky enough to shoot the Social Media marketing campaign live at the Cobra Starship concert during the launch party on the roof of the Manhattan Ford dealership on June 10, 2010. As I shot I had an editor downloading cards and uploading images to Twitpic during the event, tagging them with each person's twitter handle. Images were live in minutes and people tweeted and retweeted the picts through the night and the following days. The next day we uploaded all of the selects to the Ford Fiesta Flickr page and tweeted again that the images were live and could be downloaded, posted, tweeted and sent out to anyone.
We believe that this was one of the first photo shoots if not the first to use Twitter/Twitpic to do live marketing on site during an event in real time and see this as part of the future for online marketing campaigns.
