Citizenship 101: Your Guide to Citizenship helps you understand the steps and requirements to become an American citizen. Produced by the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, the video covers topics you should know before you even file an application, such as citizenship benefits and responsibilities, qualifications for naturalization, completing the application, preparing for the English and civics examination, and more. It includes a sample naturalization interview so you know what to expect at this important step. It also provides the vocabulary for the English reading and writing tests, as well as all 100 questions and answers from the U.S. government and history examination.
Citizenship 101 is available in seven languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Korean, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. All versions feature key segments with English dialogue to help you learn the words you need to understand or use during the application process.
A 64-page workbook complements the video with more detailed information, particularly about naturalization requirements, filing procedures, and the application. The workbook can be downloaded for free from the APALC website at apalc.org/citizenship.
