After two weeks of rain, we had four days of sunshine, and I spent the first and last three hours of each of those days in my backyard blind, videoing the many birds other wildlife that are now calling the swamp home. It's very hard for me to leave the house right now, as there is always something exciting going on right outside the window.
In order to give a better perspective, I used a 105mm lens on a second camera, and had it running much of the time I was filming with my digiscoping system. The Wood Ducks are so wary, that I have to keep a cover over my scope so they don't see my hand focusing and making camera adjustments, and I have to keep my head down behind the camera at all times. When its time to leave the blind, I call my husband on my cell phone and he comes out of the house, which scares the ducks away, and then I come out of the blind. I don't want to scare them, but I also don't want them to start thinking that it's safe to be around a blind with someone in it.
Everything was shot in 4K. One system was a GH4 + 20mm/1.7 + Digidapter + Swarovski STX85; the 2nd system was a GH4 + 105mm. Everything was shot using manual focus.
