Number Ten Downing Street, 5 January 1989. Full of misgivings and anxiety I'm here to photograph prime minister Margaret Thatcher for a book marking her tenth anniversary in power. Other photographers, more principled, have turned the job down. Enemy? Sure she's the enemy but... come on. Isn't this why we became photographers in the first place? To slip between the social classes? To witness the doings of our elected representatives? Hell, I was curious.
