Medication therapy management (MTM) services are dependent upon pharmacists working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication use in accordance with evidence-based guidelines. In this session, hear from David Harlow, with Martin Health System on how their organization implemented a program where pharmacy plays a direct patient care role that provides monetary benefit and increased positive qualitative and quantitative measures that support scorecard metrics.
Next, review the process used to develop and implement specialty pharmacy services for a large IDN within an academic medical center. Components of a successful specialty pharmacy program will be described, with an emphasis on positive impacts to patient care and revenue cycle.
