On June 21 and June 22 Sotheby's in New York is auctioning off one thousand photographs that were once owned by Polaroid, which filed for bankruptcy in 2009. The photographs were originally part of a collection established by Ansel Adams called The "Artist Support Program". Proceeds from the auction will go toward paying off creditors. The auction has stirred up some controversy in the art world and has also posed minor challenges for the new owners of Polaroid, Hilco Consumer Capital LP and Gordon Brothers Brands LLC who are trying to rebuild the brand.
