Film «The Cave» is about relationship between mankind and inner self, about physical existence and state of nothingness. About the connection of human beings, environs and moment. Further more, it is about the cave, inside the ground, made of red sand, that represents the state of unassumingness and womb as a safe place to just be, exist.
Performers Masha Salangina and Osku Leinonen made an expedition to the caves of Sablino, located near St.-Petersburg (Russia) and to the catacombs of old finnish fortress in island Suomenlinna. In there they performed, shoot a film, and experienced something remarkable and simple. «The Cave» continues this exploration of inner self and simpleness.
