Creation of an icon:
Since its construction in the early 1960’s as the Life Assurance Building, 8-10 Hobart Place has maintained a prominent and important position within Canberra City.
Now, under the direction of Crafted and its leading design team, the building is undergoing a stunning transformation into what will be Canberra City’s most iconic and well known building – Neon House.
Neon LED Facade
The facade is currently being transformed via one of Canberra’s largest light art displays reminiscent of the VIVID and Enlighten festivals, under the direction of leading Art Director Paul Wallace of peowpeow.
Whilst maintaining a professional austere character throughout the day, Neon House comes alive at dusk via a colour-changing neon-style LED installation on the building’s facade. Neon House will become a barometer for Canberra, not only changing with the seasons, but with the potential to change for major events,
