Couldn't get to the fabulous Red Sea this year so had a browse through the last expedition's footage to reminisce.
Here's some of my favourite bits, set to some cool, chill out piano. The most amazing fish and corals on the planet. Below around 6 metres, colours begin to fade as the effects and properties of natural sunlight diminishes, so even colour correction and post-processing have minimal effect.
This is all shot without lights, using natural light and having a red filter applied on anything below 6 metres.
This little camera does as good a job as some 3 chip cameras, in my estimation, its single CMOS chip capturing an amazing amount of detail.
Shot in PAL, at 25 frames, there is some slight aberration in movement as it clashes with Vimeo's processing rates of 24 frames.
