(Best heard using headphones)
Potentially the first in a series, exploring the nature of spiritual places & buildings across all cultures. The underlying theme throughout these Sound-art / Soundscape pieces is the sound of the building. To do this, I recorded the ECHOES of the room, instead of the traditional close-mic guitar sound.
Sacred Spaces #1 was recorded in Durham Cathedral on a rainy & windy April evening, 2015. Evensong had finished & the walls of the Cathedral sing to the silent space.
The sounds in this demo were edited & reordered using ProTools software. The photos are from our recording session at the Cathedral.
Many thanks to Sunderland University for the loan of equipment & Durham Cathedral for allowing us to use your sacred space for this project
