Mikey Borup shows us how to make a YouTube 360 video. He uses Mettle SkyBox, which brings 360/VR production capabilities into After Effects. It works with all your favorite Ae 3D plug-ins.
Mikey uses Element 3D for the background sequence. SkyBox generates the 360 format, which is also used as an Equirectangular reflection map.
You need a Meta Date injector when you upload your video to youtube to allow for the 360 view:
Meta Data injector (its halfway down the page, under prepare for upload)
Download a SkyBox demo and follow along: mettle.com/product/skybox/
Here is the 360 video Mikey made. Make sure you watch this in Chrome or on an Android device.
