The Lakeside Sheriff's Substation in East County is now open. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on May 26th and the public was given a tour of the new facility. Among those in attendance included Sheriff Bill Gore, Supervisor Dianne Jacob, as well as local law enforcement and county leaders. This new substation replaces a storefront located at a strip mall on Winter Gardens Boulevard which is now closed.
One story of operational and office space has room for 52 personnel. The overall project budget, including land acquisition, planning, design, construction and improvements, is $3.1 million.
