MAMMU designer, Liva Kauke-Saule, reveals how it all started and explains the process of creating one unique scarf by loving hands.
“MAMMU started with the idea to create something unique, but in the same time simple in order to pass the knowledge of making it to other people. In process of making the perfect design it took about 20 samples till we decided on one which we have now. I personally like the idea of combining different materials in this case rough natural linen with pastel colored braids. It is not the typical linen product, it is soft and sophisticated. And there truly is feeling about every scarf that it is unique handmade design piece, which is made by loving hands and best thoughts. Although there are guidelines for making MAMMU scarf, mothers choose color palette, combination and plait rhythm by themselves. MAMMU is nothing like mass production, every mother makes the scarf with her own insight.”
