LA-based band HEALTH are obliterating ears in the best way possible with their special brand of noise rock not usually heard in the Twin Cities. They stopped in Minneapolis a few weeks back for a packed show at the 7th St. Entry which garnered highly positive press reviews in the community. It was a concert that never stopped; the quartet sped through song after song, hardly breathing except to introduce their supporting acts Indian Jewelry and Gold Panda. Considering the guys didn't go live until around 12:30AM, the energy that continually filled the small room was the mark of a band with a long career ahead of them.
HEALTH wasn't the only one in the room doing something new that this corner of the Midwest rarely gets to see. Radio K received special permission to film the entirety of HEALTH's set at the Entry, the first time our station has ever done this. We're honored to have started this tradition with one of the K's favorite and most supported bands, and we're pleased as full-time students in addition to full-time supporters of independent musicto bring you this exclusive coverage of their show at the 7th St. Entry.
All this week, we'll roll out a video a day of the concert starting today with a special promo that will give you a good taste of what to expect in the coming week.
Radio K is the award-winning student-run radio station of the University of Minnesota, playing an eclectic variety of independent music both old and new.
