Was a fun shoot. This edit is just a long version made up from the shots that went into the trash. More to show our mini Journey through Turkey. The Client 30sec TVC version is more focused on the product for obvious reasons.
Thanks to a very trusting ad agency creatives from JWT Malaysia, who let me do my thing in what could have been a very difficult situation within crowed locations. I wish all my client were like this.
Shooting in Turkey's Grand Bazzar is always a tough ask, so I opted not to shoot with my RED DRAGON cameras and decided to shoot with the very small Sony A7s. Just so not to draw attention and run the risk of having hundreds of people stop and look into the lens or aggressive shop owners coming over wanting money to stand in the Bazzar streets.
The SONY was ok to use, the lack of high light information drove me nuts, so I had to do a lot of in camera adjustments to nail the exposure. Constant colour temperature changes was also a issue, not to mention bad rolling shutter. Other than that the camera was quite amazing use and we managed to get some great images from it. I doubt I'll make a habit of using it, but good to have in a side bag for those tricky moments. Especially low light shooting were it wins hands down.
Thanks to Barry Gladmore Productions our of KL Malaysia, JWT Malaysia, FPS production support Turkey. Whats a great team we had. Till next time. :)
