Starring an evil stingray (is there any other kind?), this is the first installment of our series exploring the coastal edge of the San Francisco peninsula.
This is the harsh, industrial, Southeast edge, and includes Candlestick Point Recreation Area, South Basin, Yosemite Slough, and India Basin.
Some parts of this area have been made into nice public open spaces, others are slated to be rehabilitated after years of toxic dumping and neglect, and others will likely stay in the sorry state they appear here.
