Audiovisual performance group Silicium is a collaboration between electronic musician Bjørn Svin (DK) and media artist Carl Emil Carlsen (DK). In their debut at the Click Festival in Helsingør (May 2015) they utilised a holographic stage with stereographic projection and 3D-tracking. The setup enabled an illusion of the performer appearing inside a reactive virtual environment.
Silicium (Danish for Silicon) is the second-most common chemical element on earth. Also, it is a group that explores any technology that blurs the border between physical and virtual matter in a musical performance. The aim is to shape this hybrid material into a united musical expression, crossing sound, movement and image.
