The Wesak festival of Light celebrated the birth of Buddha and also the next stage of building the Great Stupa and the monastery surrounding it.
It was a night to celebrate many cultures and beliefs , made more special by the sharing of peace flags that Bendigo schoolchildren had made and these were passed through the multi faith hands on stage.
The dragon Tummo was launched and according to eastern philosophy it will protect the stupa and all who visit.
I was very honoured to be the one to name it Tummo meaning Inner fire in Tibetan.
The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion was truly celebrated with many dances and drummers from many countries and of course Tibetan chanting.
Then wonderful fireworks and much fire from Tummo and the Stupa.
