Ben Hill’s Short Confessions
25 minute music documentary
Directed by Alan Gardner
Ben Hill is a sensitive singer-songwriter recording and releasing his first album, Short Confessions. During the months of filming he falls in love with Beth and writes a song for her which is arguably the best on the album.
Ben's father, who was also a musician in his time, committed suicide when Ben was 7 years old. During the documentary we see the impact this traumatic event has on Ben's emotional life, as his relationship with Beth gradually dissolves.
The album goes nowhere and the relationship with his manager breaks down.
Ben performs songs in the guise of his comic alter-ego, DJ Dick Stroker, and tries to win his way back into Beth’s heart by making her laugh…
