Robert and Alison founded the Broadsheet as Battery Park City was becoming a family-friendly community in 1997. Situated just west of the World Trade Center, the neighborhood was dependent on the WTC for shopping, transportation and cultural events. After 9/11, the paper’s reappearance affirmed that the neighborhood was back.
