A Brightest Films Production
From BAFTA Cymru-winning director Clare Sturges
In association with Maggie's Centres and University of Wales Trinity Saint David
My Brief Eternity: Ar Awyr Le tells the poignant, moving story of well-known Welsh artist Osi Rhys Osmond and the creation of his last work of art, 'Self Portrait'.
Produced as a collaboration between Brightest Films and Maggie’s, this original short film explores the artist’s reflections on the power of art – its role and significance in his life, and its value in coping and living with cancer.
Osi talks about life and death, about art as a prism for capturing the experience of being alive and the creative process as a metaphor for living and dying, managing to inspire even in the face of his own imminent death.
The documentary provides an intimate portrayal of the artist’s mindset, thoughts and feelings using a gentle, sensitive approach, through Osi’s voiceover testimony and beautiful images of his natural environment, the artwork and his working practice.
